Bespoke Commissions

Not every piece fits neatly into the standard collection. A wedding-band pair in matching profile. A christening pendant with a long passage of text. A memorial bracelet with three children's names and a Cornish sea-glass cabochon. For pieces like these, we take a small number of bespoke commissions each year.

What is possible

We work in sterling silver (.925). Within that material, the range of what is possible is broad:

The process

  1. Email. Describe the piece you have in mind. A sketch, a reference image, or just a paragraph of description is fine. Include the occasion and any deadline.
  2. Discussion. We reply with thoughts, questions, and usually a rough sketch. For complex pieces, this stage may take a few exchanges. There is no fee for the discussion.
  3. Quote and deposit. Once we agree on the design, we send a written quote. A 50% deposit secures the build slot. The balance is due before posting.
  4. Build. The piece is made at the bench. For pieces with unusual elements (an imported stone, a specific chain length, a ring size we need to verify), we communicate during the build.
  5. Photography and posting. We photograph the finished piece and send the images for sign-off before posting. The piece ships by tracked Royal Mail.

Timeline

Simple bespoke pieces (a stamped bangle with custom text, a pendant in a non-standard size) take 7 to 14 working days. Complex pieces (a stone-set ring requiring specific sizing, a multi-element bracelet, a pair of matching wedding bands) take 3 to 6 weeks. We always agree a timeline before taking the deposit and we communicate if anything changes.

Pricing

Bespoke pieces are priced based on the silver used, the complexity of the work, and the bench time required. As a rough guide:

Cornish sea-glass settings add no material cost (we collect the glass ourselves) but do add bench time for the bezel work, typically £15 to £25 on top of the base price.
